COMPENSATION: Full time- Hourly
Working Hours: 4:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
JOB
Summary: The Milk Receiver is responsible for milk sampling, loading at the farm, unloading at the plant, loading of UF and cream, and driving milk trucks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in food processing and sanitary conditions
Ability to pass State milk sampling and handling license
Strong, honest work ethic with ability to handle multiple tasks daily.
Ability to provide organization to receiving area.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
JOB
Responsibilities:
Sampling, Handling and Weighing of milk
Movement and parking of milk tankers
Proper receiving and unloading of milk tankers
Proper loading of UF and cream tankers
Maintain a safe working environment
Maintain sanitary conditions and quality programs
Monitor costs including product loss
Maintain all receiving equipment including the yard tractors in clean and proper conditions
Record and report all required data and information
Interface with milk processor during shift
Handle milk in accordance with State and company procedures
Perform required milk handling requirements
Other plant responsibilities as deemed necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee will occasionally stand, climb a height of 6ft., balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and carry, push, lift or pull up to 600 lbs.
The employee will frequently walk, sit, handle, finger, feel, smell and talk.
Successfully complete pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
This position is classified as a safety-sensitive position; Responsible for creating and maintaining a safety-conscious work environment according to policies and procedures.
ENVIRONMENT:
Environment involved is inside office/production areas, outside, cold/heat, wet/humid.
The employee will occasionally be exposed to loud noises, twisting of back and neck, slippery floor surface, hazardous equipment (mechanical moving parts), hazardous cleaning solutions, an contact with sharp objects.
