8K a year Under the direction of the Director of Project Management, the Procurement Specialist supports and coordinates purchasing, distribution, and financial forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service as well as contract management, contract negotiation, and preparation of purchase orders.
Responsibilities also include examining existing procedures or opportunities and support for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs.
Job Responsibilities and Duties Management of the procurement of products and services company wide across different markets Maintains complete and accurate records of purchasing activities Management of the Procure-to-pay process, from purchase creation to vendor invoice reconciliation against shipments and goods received Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors and manufacturers Support development and monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities Assess and monitor Supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality, appropriate lead times and delivery requirements Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, and to discuss productions forecasts or changes Collaborate with other departments such as education department, Advanced Modalities, IT, HR, and Accounts Payable to identify or qualify new suppliers Implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers Confer with department heads to forecast demand or create supply plans to ensure availability of materials or products Monitor performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost and quality Implement procurement processes that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies Implement and maintain quality assurance metrics to include purchase orders, order policy adherence, and supplier quality Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
