Distribution Utility Forester - $500 Sign-on Bonus!
As a Distribution Utility Forester with ECI, your office is the great outdoors! Work Plan Distribution Line Wreck and Rebuild Projects.Oversee ROW clearing operations.Conduct Danger Tree assessments and supervision of removals.Assist the Access Team with clearing projects including significant interaction with land owners and farmers. Develop vegetation management plans for their properties.Ensure safe and reliable electric service delivery to the public.Act as the subject matter expert regarding utility vegetation management (UVM), for clients, landowners, and other stakeholders.Ensure tree crews are following proper safety and arboricultural practices and procedures.Address customer concerns related to vegetation in and adjacent to utility easements.Coordinate with utility engineers to assist with infrastructure upgrades and new construction.Negotiate with customers for tree removal as prescribed.Perform QA/QC inspections on completed vegetation management work.Identify vegetative threats to safe & reliable electric service and develop action plans to mitigate.WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
Solid, local tree identification skills.Ability to read maps.Willingness to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.Superb written and verbal communication skills.Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, smartphones).WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or related discipline.1-2 years of UVM, Forestry, or related outdoor experience.Certification as an ISA Arborist, Registered Forester, or other related certificates/licenses preferred.Prior experience using GIS software is preferred.A strong desire to grow and develop your career and knowledge in the UVM industry with ECI.Bi-lingual speaking (English and Spanish).Working EnvironmentWork alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.
