This position is located in the Data Center Operations Unit.

This Office of Technology Services (OTS) position is an advanced technical position supporting multiple complex, multi-agency local, metropolitan, and wide area networks under OTS's responsibility.
Preference will be given to candidates with significant project management experience as this position will be responsible for participation in and oversight of network service requests and projects or network trouble.
Candidate must possess knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol families and LAN/WAN technologies.
This includes but is not limited to:
Ethernet networks, T1/T3 carrier networks, MPLS services, Quality of Service operations, IP routing protocols, and network management.
Additionally, candidate should have hands-on experience installing and managing multi-vendor network routers, switches, cabling, wireless systems, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server configuration.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Access Control (NAC) platforms.
Regular interaction with OTS and State Agency managers and technicians, vendors of communications and network management software/hardware/services, and end users will be required.
Regular same-day travel outside of Baton Rouge and throughout the state is also to be expected.
Vacancies within other units of Data Center Operations and different technical disciplines such as server management, database administration, mainframe administration, or storage administration may be filled from this posting.
This vacancy participates in a career progression group and may be filled from this recruitment as a IT Statewide Engineer 1 (TS-314), IT Statewide Engineer 2 (TS-315) or IT Statewide Engineer 3 (TS-316) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
The maximum salary for the IT Statewide Engineer 3 is $ 110,219.

An associate's degree in information technology will substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
